Some of the most important volunteering for Hope Haven isn’t necessarily about working on the farm… most of it is spreading the word about Hope Haven. Sharing our stories with people and raising funds to keep the animals at Hope Haven happy and healthy… living a life free of pain or abuse.
If you like to get your hands dirty, we are exploring new ways to have you help on the farm … including open work days! Spring clean up and winterization are a couple of the times we offer these fun volunteer experiences. They require no commitment or training. Just sign up and be ready to lend a hand! Open volunteer days will be advertised on our Facebook and Instagram pages and will include a link where you can sign up. We hope to offer these several time during our public season of May through October. Interested in volunteering more regularly?? Read on......
For safety and liability purposes, all farm volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, no exceptions.
We rely on our volunteers to help with farm chores, animal transport, donation pick up/delivery, tabling at local events, creating raffle baskets for events, and more.
We can use your brain too! How about helping at a special event or outreach activity? We are also in much need of help with public relations, event planning, FUNDRAISING, and legal expertise.
For more information on volunteering, please feel free to contact our volunteer coordinator at karen@hopehavenfarm.org.
We are looking for dedicated supporters who can commit to volunteering two shifts a month.
These shifts will most likely be weekdays in the later afternoons since our staff all work full-time jobs outside the farm. We also ask that you have visited the farm on a tour or event BEFORE committing to volunteering. Unless you visit us, how will you know you want to donate your valuable time here?
Volunteer shifts are approximately two hours long and entail a myriad of farm chores such as mucking stalls, scrubbing water buckets, raking leaves, clearing brush, egg collection, brushing and socializing animals, sweeping up, and stacking hay bales. Throughout it all you will be surrounded by the wonderful farm animals and get to know them and learn their hilarious (and often devious) antics!
It's hard work but it's fun and rewarding. After you fill out the application you will be contacted by a HH representative who will answer any of questions and schedule your orientation. We are so excited for you to join our team!
Thank you!
